Creating an account means you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t create an account.
Expenses is a personal expense and reimbursement tracker: a place to log transactions, split them into pieces, set money aside in buckets, and (optionally) pull in transaction history from a connected bank. It is not a bank, does not move money, and does not give financial, tax, or legal advice — nothing in this app should be treated as a recommendation about your finances.
You’re responsible for keeping your password (and, if enabled, your two-factor authenticator app) secure, and for everything that happens under your account. Use accurate sign-up information. One account per person. You must be old enough, under the law where you live, to enter into this agreement.
Connecting a bank account is entirely optional and happens through Plaid. By connecting one, you authorize Plaid to retrieve transaction and balance data on your behalf and pass it to us, subject to Plaid’s own End User Privacy Policy. We don’t control Plaid’s or your bank’s availability, accuracy, or uptime, and we’re not responsible for outages or errors on their end.
Use Expenses for its intended purpose: tracking your own finances. Don’t try to access another account, don’t attempt to break or abuse the import, API, or authentication systems, and don’t use the service for anything unlawful.
Expenses is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don’t guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Expenses, including any loss of data or reliance on figures it shows you. Always verify anything financially important against your bank’s own records.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account — it’s immediate and permanent. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms or is used to abuse the service.
We may update these terms as the app changes. We’ll update the effective date above when we do; continuing to use Expenses after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR JURISDICTION].
